For Friday, please do the following:
1) Find several inspirational images for the set. These images should include shape, pattern, colors, design, etc. Add these to your journal and write a sentence or two about what the image you really like and would like to incorporate into your design.
1.5) Complete your preliminary sketch for your set design, (This should be a basic sketch & design...your final preliminary ideas will be presented on Tuesday.)
2) Over the weekend (or when you have some free time in the next week), spend some time looking at this link. The British Council has done a magnificent job of walking you through some major parts of the process of putting on a production.
Using this link, go through and make a final decision for your show, Romeo & Juliet. After you are done leave a comment below about what realizations you had about putting on a production.
Here it is! I chose a modern version of Midsummer Night's Dream. I went for a interesting almost steampunk look which through all conventions formerly accustomed to out the window!

Here is mine. I did a version of Romeo and Juliet where their cultural backgrounds brought them apart and was performed outside on real balconies. It is very dramatic!
