ReplyDeleteWhat sounds like a great idea?
Addressing a present and important problem like refugees in today's day in age sounds like a great idea. Taking on such an important topic and allowing all who watch the performance to see your point of view on the topic and what you believe is right. This expression of your personal belief helps set the mood for the entire performance which is enhanced with the enclosed space of the black box and a minimalistic set.
What is not clear/confusing?
Why is the play closer connected to females than males? Is this shown in the text or is it only because you are a woman who is performing it?

I love the questioning of where are you from. As one who has lived in countless countries i have seen first hand how different the responses can be, not only between citizens of the world, but also between those who have lived in the same town their entire life.
What is not clear/confusing?
How does the idea of the invisible actor work? Is it the idea that the audience doesn't know they are watching a play in the first place or Is it seen though your performance?
Add any thoughts/suggestions.
I personally think the idea of a performance questioning where you com from would be more interesting to watch, as it is in an enclosed space with close contact with the actor. However for the women's day performance it is more comfortable since it is guaranteed you will have a time and place where the audience will be present to watch you perform.

ReplyDelete- Good Ideas:
Talking about the refugee problem is an extremely good idea due to the current situation in Europe. Using a minimalistic set will make much more impact for your piece because I believe that in this case, less is more.
- Confusing Ideas:
I was confused by the characters. Is it all women? How many are there? Are there men? That wasn't clear to me.

- Good Ideas:
I love both of you ideas, even though I’m a little partial to the one about the identity one. “Where are you from”. I think its so interesting and very appropriate for you especially so one point for that one!!.
- Confusing Ideas:
How are you going to choose and then practice all those while in AMIS and then present? Also, I did not understand the invisible actor, are you going to be invisible during the piece?
Sofia
ReplyDelete-I liked her intention of providing different perspectives about refugees to diverse audience, since it is a considerable issue world wide. Also I thought it's is a good idea to use minimalistic set design to emphasize its theme.
-It could've been more helpful to understand if you explained more about the characters and structures of the performance.

- I think your topic is very engaging and interesting, 'where are you from'. Since our school has a lot of people who have been living in several countries, I think it would be something everyone can relate to.
- What do you mean by invisible actors? Are you not going to be on the stage throughout the whole performance??
